South Texas mourning dove hunting gets more hunters into the field than any other type hunting. If a hunter is not in the field on the opening day of mourning dove season, which is the start of the hunting year, some will say he or she is not an avid hunter. We can arrange half-day hunts at $50 per hunter or a full day of hunting for $125. A full day of mourning dove with more and more white-wing dove moving into the area now, makes for a great hunt.

For a group of ten or more hunters that hunt for a full day, we will have a good old-fashioned South Texas mesquite barbeque taking place around noon. Life doesn't get any better than filling your stomach and then taking a refreshing catnap under the oak trees! Encino has stock ponds to hunt over as well as pass-over shooting. The ranch has some cultivated land were the milo and corn were planted some time ago. We also offer our native crotant (goat weed) to hunt over. This is a favorite food of deer.
